The title is an unwieldy mouthful for a compilation that basically spotlights the cream of the mid-'60s output of Eagle Records, a small Winnipeg-based label. The Quid get all of side one, and their "Crazy Thing" is a real highlight, with a British Invasion R&B feel akin to the early Rolling Stones, Yardbirds, and Pretty Things, with a cool descending guitar line. Nothing else by the group matched it, although there are nice crude covers of "Catch the Wind" and Manfred Mann's "She." Side two has passable, unremarkable garage pop by Satan & the D-Men, the Shondells, and the Good Feeling; about half the tracks on the compilation were previously unreleased, or alternate takes.
