Madacy's Rock On 1991 is a brief survey of the year's hits. A wide mix of styles and artists, the collection ultimately is too short and random to be of much use to anyone as a definitive record of the year. There are many good songs included, however: EMF's ubiquitous "Unbelievable," C+C Music Factory's "Gonna Make You Sweat," Jesus Jones' "Right Here, Right Now" and Black Box's "Strike It Up." There are also a few that were not very big hits, like the Fixx's "How Much Is Enough?" and Sheena Easton's "What Comes Naturally." While most fans of '90s pop would be better off looking for a more comprehensive collection, someone looking for a quick survey of the pop landscape might be satisfied.
