Anyone nostalgic for the period of music covered throughout Madacy's Rock N Roll Reunion series won't be alone. As the label thankfully indicates at the top of each edition, the songs included are not the original versions; instead, they are newly recorded takes by the original artists. Unsurprisingly, there is never an instance in which a new version tops the original, so the whole series should be avoided -- unless, of course, you are interested in new versions (and admittedly decent ones in some cases) of old songs. The 1964 edition features remakes of the Shangri-Las' "The Leader of the Pack," the Nashville Teens' "Tobacco Road," Wayne Fontana's "Um, Um, Um, Um, Um," the Bachelors' "I Believe," and the Drifters' "Saturday Night at the Movies."
