Coasting a wave of passionate fusion that brought them nationally the success they've enjoyed so much throughout the Midwest, Milwaukee's Oceans was one of the most solid genre bands in the late '80s and early '90s. This disc is full of the mouthwatering pop-jazz stuff that musical dreams are made of. And what would an album from 1989 be without the vocal spirit of Carl Anderson, who seemed to do a lot of sessions that year? He lights a fire on "If You Come Back to Me" that's tough to put out. So even though Oceans is based closer to Lake Michigan, their sound roars a bit more like the great Pacific. Pun intended.
