AllMusic Review by

The "Thrilla" riddim has nothing to do with Michael Jackson but everything to do with synthetic horns. Its riff might bring to mind the triumphant horn blast that opened Europe's "The Final Countdown," and its bassline...well, there really isn't one. Instead there's a lot of percussion that makes it very upbeat and perfect for the lightweight and pop T.O.K. Rik Rok comes up with a fresh melody for the riddim on his extra-sexy "There Is a Doctor in the House." General Degree's "Laughing Mood" is a gimmicky take on the riddim that borders on being a novelty tune, while Ce'Cile and Lady Saw give a playful diss to us all on "Loser." As far as superstars, the never-seems-to-leave-the-studio Elephant Man does fine on his track, but the simple riddim doesn't complement Vybz Kartel's freewheeling style well at all.
