Heartfelt folk with an emotional bite that showcases the songwriter's heart on her sleeve, Rebecca Pearcy is armed with an acoustic guitar and a lyric book full of bad days. "Halloween," for example, remains at a mid-tempo pace with an accompanying violin and crisp, clear lead vocals that remain attentive from beginning to end. The B-side, "Poppies," is a little more upbeat and just as complex, minus the fiddle player. Offering very honest, stripped-down songwriting, Rebecca Pearcy is able to capture her feelings on wax while drawing in the listener with her heartfelt stories and profound guitar work.
