AllMusic Review by

Third in this well-known punk series, this is much less thrash-oriented than Vol. 2 if nowhere near as great as Vol. 1. D.I. punk up Sweet's 1973 glam hit "Ballroom Blitz" à la Damned and Rezillos versions, only with new lyrics. Both their tracks here blow away their recent LP, sounding much more like the band they're rooted in -- Adolescents! Speaking of Adolescents, they on the other hand butcher, meaning slaughter, the Kinks' 1964 classic "All Day and All of the Night," making us appreciate the Stranglers' wonderful version all the more. Real Naked Raygun fans will be glad to get the unreleased elsewhere "Rocks of Sweden"; surf Raygun? You got it, and you'll want it. And there's more good stuff from the strange bedfellows of those wacky punk boys Adrenalin O.D., West Coast rap/funk/Beastie punks Doggy Style, '70s glam thrash from White Flag, and the usual yucks from Mojo Nixon. The rest fails to register, but still that's pretty good for compilations, ain't it? It sure is.
