Most of the 14 selections included on this LP live up to the album's title and few have yet to reappear on CD. There are performances from The Memphis Jazzers, Cliff Jackson's Krazy Kats ("The Terror"), The Dixie Devils, The Blue Rhythm Orchestra (a fine all-star group), The Wabash Trio, TeRoy Williams (featuring cornetist Rex Stewart), the two weaker numbers of the four cut by Cecil Scott's Orchestra, the Nashville Jazzers and Pletcher's Eli Prom Trotters. In general the music is quite rewarding (even if the personnel listings are often highly speculative). This album (which should interest 1920s collectors) will be a difficult one to locate.
