The second album of self-deprecating humor and gratuitous silliness by this quintet from Manitowoc, WI, Raise It! again centers around the folly associated with over drinking and other guy stuff. Lead by songwriter, producer, and guitarist Jim Krueger this album is packed full of laughs and stupidity that will probably elevate this recording to premier status among Happy Schnapps Combo recordings. While the title clearly refers to intemperance other subject matter surfaces as well like the male's shopping Mecca at "Fleet Farm," the confusing upper Midwestern dialect revealed in "Com'ere Once," and the utter inferiority of Chicago's NFL franchise in "The Bears Still Suck Polka," which was first included on their 1991 debut 100 Proof. Absolutely nothing of redeeming social value is found on this album, but it's funny and catchy and may even induce listener participation (when no one else is present, of course).
