The four albums Phoebe Snow recorded for Columbia between 1976 and 1978 were often frustrating, alternating between flashes of brilliance and moments of creative confusion. P.S. is a fine budget-line distillation of the records' peaks, emphasizing the many fascinating cover songs which increasingly dominated Snow's catalog as the years passed -- highlights include her renditions of "Love Makes a Woman," "There's a Boat That's Leaving Soon for New York" and "Teach Me Tonight."
