Featuring 11 tracks of '70s-styled Southern rock (though without any extended jamming), Private Stock is a nice showcase for this Atlanta-based quartet. It's difficult to pinpoint a single overwhelming influence on the Grapes' Southern sound, even though some of the vocals are similar to Ray Sawyer of Dr. Hook fame. The songs are not quite intoxicating, but pleasurable nonetheless. A decent vintage.
