Combining aspects of alternative rock, nu-metal, and scream-o, Allele shares qualities with many of its hard rock contemporaries, yet the band also displays the ability to craft strong songs with memorable melodies. In fact, there's not a little of the slinky, freaky melodicism of Alice in Chains on POINT OF ORIGIN (that band's slightly eerie two-voice harmonies are clearly an influence). Yet Allele sounds au courant for 2005, employing cascades of irresistible riffs and anthemic hooks that wouldn't sound out of place on MTV. Allele picks some of the best elements of modern hard rock and mixes them together in a way that should appeal to fans of both hardcore and commercial metal.
