AllMusic Review by

This four-song EP captures the Colorblind James Experience live in the studio during a session for English radio DJ John Peel's show. It was the band's first trip abroad, a year after the release of the Experience's eponymous debut album. One song ("Havoc Theme") originates from that first release, while two others ("Polka Girl" and "Wedding At Canaa") would appear on group's next album (1989's WHY SHOULD I STAND UP?), and the fourth ("Hey Bernadette") is a delightful number that has never appeared anywhere else.

On this live recording, The Colorblind James Experience's trademark ease is as evident as it is on the band's studio albums. This is that rare entity that really sounds like no one else. The Experience's meld of acoustic blues, Dixieland, soundtrack music, bluegrass, and rock & roll is theirs and theirs alone.
