Peace Together assembles a cross-section of British and Irish artists to interpret songs that deal with how young people cope in the confrontational environment of Northern Ireland. It's also the name of the ad hoc group performing lead track "Be Still," comprised of (among others) Peter Gabriel, Sinead O'Connor, Feargal Sharkey, Nanci Griffith (the lone American, who happens to be a huge success in Ireland), Jah Wobble, Clive Langer, and members of The Hothouse Flowers. The music does suffer from the unenveness that tends to plague these kind of projects. Some tracks are indifferent; others not well thought out at all. Still, there's enough material that approaches the cause itself on the worthiness scale to make Peace Together worth picking up.
