Originally released as a VHS tape when the Operation: LIVEcrime CD was still new, that concert video is the core of this DVD. The album itself comes across as a concept album that leans quite heavily toward the rock opera designation. It is an all-time classic album leading to questions of whether the live show would live up to the promise. The live video performance used here shows that not only could the band reproduce the disc live, but that they could surpass themselves, bringing it out of the "nearly rock opera" zone straight into the definitely "rock opera" area. As is often the case with these type of DVDs, the makers were not content to simply duplicate that tape. Instead, they chose to add a number of features, making this a must-have even for those who had the foresight to purchase the (now out-of-print) video. These features include interview segments with Geoff Tate, a graphic story of the album (further leading to the opera distinction), and a couple of audio tracks that you have to find. So all of those factors make this one just about a must-have for Queensrÿche fans.
