Nick Rudd rocks in a refreshing and infectious manner. Always a bridesmaid and never a bride, Rudd has worked with Adam Schmitt, Bob Kimball, and Ric Menck and Paul Chastain from Velvet Crush. Rudd is a pop writer more influenced by classic Stones than by Cheap Trick. His voice will recall T-Bone Burnett or Peter Blegvad; at times he even sounds like a caffeine-free Tom Verlaine. The production is clear, uncluttered and heavy on the guitars and there's a real nice balance between ballads and rockers.
