No, it's not just you. A few of the songs on Thump's Old School '80s compilation -- like Marvin Gaye's "Got to Give It Up" and Rufus & Chaka Khan's "At Midnight (My Love Will Lift You Up)" -- came out in the '70s. And one inclusion -- Bell Biv DeVoe's "Poison" -- came out in 1990. Even with the inexplicable slip, it's hard to fault the contents of a disc featuring nothing but number one R&B hits. While Thump has churned out piles of discs that look a lot like this, the focus puts a rather fresh spin on what they do, especially since their '80s-focused discs have tended to neglect the latter half of the decade. Other highlights here include Rick James' "You and I," the Brothers Johnson's "Stomp!," Cameo's "Word Up!," and Pebbles' "Mercedes Boy."
