The success of Decca Records' 1943 album of songs from the Broadway musical Oklahoma! led the label to record three more songs from the show and issue them as a two-78 set, Oklahoma!, Vol. 2, in 1945. These are minor, but still interesting numbers from the show. Onstage, "Lonely Room" was sung by Howard da Silva, playing the part of the villain Jud Fry. But on the recording, the song has been given to Alfred Drake, who played the hero, Curly. In the CD era, it became possible to add these tracks to the regular Oklahoma! cast album, which as a result became more complete.
