AllMusic Review by

Although there was a boldly printed proclamation on the cover of synth mastermind Klaus Schulze's 1980 double album ...Live... that it would be his "first and last live album," unearthed recordings from a date on his 1977 tour were strong enough to merit at least one more widely released live set, appearing in 2014 in the form of Official Boot, Vol. 1: Stars Are Burning. Parts of this concert from Brussels University on April 16, 1977 were circulated earlier as an unofficial bootleg, but the tracks here were released with Schulze's blessing, going so far as to include a studio bonus track on the vinyl version. This track, "Invisible Musik," was put to tape in November 2007 and originally released on the 2008 compilation Muting the Noise 01. The "Vol. 1" in the title suggests there are more live recordings of Schulze's spaced-out synth explorations in the archives awaiting proper release on future volumes.
