This 1986 reissue LP of a program originally made for Bob Thiele's Signature label features pianist Ray Bryant and his trio (which also includes bassist Tom Bryant and drummer Oliver Jackson, Jr.) in a tribute to modern jazz composers and jazz standards. Bryant swings his way through a program that includes such numbers as John Lewis' "Delauney's Dilemma," "Misty," Horace Silver's "Doodlin'," "Walkin'" and the obscure Duke Ellington piece "A Hundred Dreams From Now." This album gives listeners a strong sampling of Ray Bryant's accessible playing during his early period.
