AllMusic Review by

Now That's What I Call a Workout throws something of a curve ball to series followers who expect nothing but pop hits as they are heard on Top 40 radio. The disc contains songs by many of the usual suspects, including Lady Gaga, Usher, Chris Brown, the Black Eyed Peas, LMFAO, and Britney Spears, but the majority of the selections are dance remixes of major hits. The original and extended versions that are here come from artists who needn't seek assistance in appealing to dancefloors (or gyms); Avicii's "Levels," Steve Aoki and Laidback Luke's "Turbulence" (featuring Lil Jon), Zedd's "Spectrum," and Calvin Harris' "Feel So Close" have as much commercial appeal as the Nicky Romero mix of Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)." As with the Now series proper, this compilation is an accurate snapshot -- one that happens to document the state of commercial dance music circa 2012/2013.
