The third volume of Disky's No Spitting punk retrospective fares little better than its mates. While it has its moments -- Angelic Upstarts' "Kids on the Street," the scrambling folk-punk of Patrik Fitzgerald's "Safety Pin Stuck in My Heart" -- there isn't enough of a balance between deep cuts, singles, and well-known acts here to find a niche in the crowded punk retrospectives field. Taken together, the three volumes of No Spitting will serve the novice listener with a passable punk introduction. But they'll go no deeper than the pinprick surface, and will not offer anything from heavyweights like the Clash. The lack of serviceable liner information is a drawback, too, especially for such a colorful (and sometimes confusing) period of musical history.
