The third in the series, New World Chill, Vol. 3 presents more of the downbeat music that was also present on the first two records. Not that the songs here are amorphous ambient pieces that sprawl out ad infinitum: there's actually a lot of structure in the included pieces, from the vocals in "Anticipatory (Living Twice Remix)" to the samba-inspired "Magnifica" to the horns loops of "Sherazade Mon Amour" and "The Classic." If anything, the record is less of a chillout album than its predecessors (though at least there's more artistic variety here, a nice added bonus), which makes it a bit more appropriate for late night (as opposed to early morning). None of the artists here are particularly well known (exceptions perhaps being the LTJ X-Perience or Dust), but as the purpose of the compilation is to create and sustain mood, this doesn't end up being too much of a drawback, especially considering that New World Chill, Vol. 3 ends up accomplishing its goal pretty well.
