Returning to the studio with producer Ric Ocasek, Possum Dixon created another solid modern pop album with New Sheets. More than ever, their quirky New Wave tendencies are put to the front, especially since they not only have Ocasek manning the boards, but also collaborate with Dave Stewart and Jane Wiedlin on a handful of songs. Although the result meanders at times, there's more than enough high-quality, nervy guitar-pop to make New Sheets another strong entry into Possum Dixon's underrated canon.
