AllMusic Review by

Adding psychedelia to their grunge foundation on their second album, Reloaded, didn't bring Green Apple Quick Step a larger audience, so they retreat somewhat on their third record, New Disaster. There are still elements of experimentation, particularly in the vein of Jane's Addiction/Porno for Pyros' neo-prog, but the band concentrates on hard-edged post-grunge rock throughout the record. They sound tighter than ever, but they still have trouble coming up with indelible hooks and melodies. A few songs, including the single "Kid," demonstrate that Green Apple Quick Step can hit on the perfect combination of attitude, melody and hooks, but they simply don't arrive frequently enough on New Disaster.
