AllMusic Review by

Although this import CD provides no information on the source of the 22 "original recordings" it contains, they seem to derive from studio recordings made by Kay Kyser and His Orchestra circa 1938-40 and originally released on the Brunswick and Columbia labels. Kyser's biggest hits from the period are missing, though such high-charting tracks as "Stairway to the Stars," "The Little Red Fox," "(I Gotta Get Some) Shuteye," "Two Sleepy People," and the title track are present. For the most part, Kyser's corniest novelties are excluded, resulting in a collection that emphasizes the band's sweet ballad style and its featured vocalists, Harry Babbitt and Ginny Simms, performing standards such as "Indian Summer" and "Deep Purple" along with less-well-remembered songs. Fans should take note, since this is not the sort of material typically reissued on CD, but more casual fans might want to start with a more hit-filled compilation.
