This first effort by France's Oldine consists of only Thomas Robyn on guitar. A project in the post-rock/shoegazer vein, Murmures contains one track of droning guitar effects and three of light guitar picking. The second of these untitled pieces goes back to basics with only a picked guitar line establishing a post-folk atmosphere. The third piece adds some space-born effects to a simple, mellow riff. It is well done, but not particularly inventive. A first pebble thrown at the ocean, Murmures gives only the first fruits, a partial realization. Oldine's full-length CD, Du Q, released two years later, is more convincing.
