The hits of Kingston, Jamaica’s reggae and dancehall duo Tanto Metro and Devonte are featured on this well-chosen compilation. Like many of their reggae contemporaries, Tanto Metro & Devonte blend dancehall and radio-ready American urban R&B, infusing stuttering rhythms and toasting with soulful, sweetly sung hooks. The group’s lyrics are limited to good-time themes (namely, girls and partying), but that’s rarely a deterrent, since the hyped-up rhythms, which are energetic enough to keep hips moving on the dance floor, insist that having a good time is what it’s all about.
