The four volumes of Disky's More Maximum '80s series are spent compiling 12" mixes of dancefloor-oriented pop singles, from new wave to Italo disco to hip-hop to sophisti-pop. While each U.K.-centric disc has its share of material that is best left in the decade of origin, they are perfectly tailored for DJs and '80s aficionados alike. Highlights of the third volume include China Crisis' "Wishful Thinking," Jermaine Stewart's "We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off," Billy Idol's "Eyes Without a Face," Kano's "Another Life," and Desireless' "Voyage Voyage." These discs are a nice alternative to the average '80s-based series, but they're definitely not for everyone.
