AllMusic Review by

Compilation of some hard-to-find hits in CD of one of the three giants of northeastern music, Jackson do Pandeiro. Comprises recordings made in the period 1961/1981. Includes the coco "Sebastiana," the first song recorded by Jackson, in 1953; "Chiclete Com Bbanana," with wonderful lyrics about inserting bebop in his samba, recorded by Gilberto Gil, among others; and "Cabeça Feita," re-recorded by Gal Costa, who also recorded "Sebastiana." His lyrics often are ambiguous and humorous, but also inconspicuously discuss social issues, like in "Mundo Cão," while his music is an explosively swinging mixture of the coco of Paraíba with Carioca samba.
