This compilation might at first look like a collection of obscurities, other than indie vets Samiam. But on closer review, Might as Well...Can't Dance turns out to have some of the most influential names in punk hidden inside. There's a catchy, un-ska tune from Common Rider, former Operation Ivy singer Jesse Michaels' new band. And there are a couple very un-Green Day songs from Pinhead Gunpowder, Billie Joe Armstrong's edgy side band (he doesn't even sing on this one), and the Frustrators, a punk band with new wave and country influences that features Mike Dirnt on bass. Then there's some good, previously unreleased music from punkers young (like One Man Army) and old (like the Dillinger Four) that makes the album worth a listen.
