AllMusic Review by

Are there any big-time fans of Bitchy, Calliope, Trenchmouth, or Vortis out there? What about the Arrivals, the Tossers, or Truly? These are hardly big-name acts, yet Thick Records has included a good number of these bands on the cheap compilation Love & Rebellion. However, many of the songs here seem to showcase punk or ska's last stand, rather than appearing to be anything of interest. The one major highlight to speak of is a song by Commander Venus -- Conor Oberst (of Bright Eyes) and Tim Kasher's (of Cursive and the Good Life) old band -- but beyond that there really isn't a whole lot of reason to get this, unless one is a big fan of the aforementioned bands or is interested in many of the tunes because they are unreleased, out of print, or coming soon.
