This is zydeco music as it is meant to be played -- alive and jumping, getting you out on the dance floor. Fortunately, the most competently performed songs are in English; "Bald Headed Men" is a great example of his sense of humor. Thomas Fields' music reflects a devil-may-care, fun-loving nature. This man didn't pick up an accordion until he was about 48, then taught his wife to play bass so he had the nucleus for his band. They may not be the most innovative band, nor the best on their instruments yet, but reflect the heart and soul of a bright, happy future for traditional zydeco, playing with a heart, a passion, and a joy that makes up for a lot of shortcomings.
