Vitamin's Lost Songs: Songs the Beatles Wrote but Never Recorded is a great idea for a disc. Lennon and McCartney recorded their best songs, but they did give away some good Merseybeat stuff at the height of Beatlemania, including "Bad to Me" and "World Without Love." Collecting these songs, along with other lesser-known Beatle original tunes of the era, is a fantastic idea. Too bad Lost Songs is filled with tepid contemporary rerecordings of the songs, thereby negating any worth it may have had...unless you're a Beatles fanatic looking for a new version of these little-heard songs.
