The Kinks were on MCA Records for a remarkably brief time, recording three albums in three years, including one live record. During these three years, Ray Davies' songwriting was frequently uninspired and formulaic. Not surprisingly, the records didn't feature enough highlights to form an engaging compilation and Lost & Found is certainly the weakest of their "best-of" collections, featuring no hit singles at all. Although Lost & Found is a better album than either Think Visual or The Kinks Live: The Road, it isn't as consistent or engaging as UK Jive, which remains the only worthwhile record from their time at MCA.
