Christmas is a tradition that's often celebrated with music, and many major artists, regardless of genre, have recorded songs of the season. Not all those Christmas records have been hits, however, and Lost Christmas: Holiday Rarities is a collection of rare sides from noted rock, pop, jazz, blues, and country artists, bringing together some obscure gems that honor the magic and the mood of the Christmas season. Selections include a rollicking "Frosty the Snowman" from Jan & Dean, two original seasonal tunes from Bobby Goldsboro, Pat Benatar's cover of "Please Come Home for Christmas," a Christmas-themed hurtin' tune from Jerry Lee Lewis, some cool jazz for the season from Chet Baker, a pair of hard-to-find Yuletide tracks from Chuck Berry, and Canned Heat blowing out the "Christmas Blues," among many others. This package should satisfy music collectors searching for hard-to-find holiday tunes as well as those just looking for some fresh music for their Christmas festivities.
