French soul singer Sinclair works very hard on Live Sinclair to deliver a strong performance, which comes across nicely on the 14 tracks here. R&B is a genre that is truly sink-or-swim live, and luckily Sinclair not only has the voice, but the songs to do it right. This album is actually quite an accomplishment -- it puts similar efforts to shame and even outdoes most American soul musicians who were out at the same time. Between the funky, powerful songs and the excellent production (something that live albums often neglect), this is a highly recommended slab of music. Fans of this genre on either side of the pond should find something to like here; this is one album where language takes second stage to emotional delivery.
