AllMusic Review by

Released on a 1977 LP and not yet reissued on CD, this live set features the superior swing clarinetist Peanuts Hucko (who has the ability to sound just like Benny Goodman) in a quartet with pianist Ralph Sutton, the obscure bassist Dante Montucci and drummer George Wettling. The recording quality is decent and certainly listenable, and the music itself is often quite heated. Considering his talents, Hucko has had relatively few chances to lead his own albums -- it would be nearly 20 years before his next recording as a leader. This enjoyable mainstream set has among its highlights spirited and hard-swinging versions of "I Found a New Baby," "Stealing Apples" and "Running Wild."
