The first taste of the exquisite Going Blank Again, "Leave Them All Behind" appears here in an edited version for public consumption. Though radio didn't really leap all over it, it should have -- starting with an amusing opening swipe of Who's Next-style keyboards, it's a roaring, rising monster glazed just right with the narcotic Gardener/Bell harmonies, another masterpiece of shoegaze. "Chrome Waves," another Going Blank Again track, appears here in an alternate version that feels a touch rougher than the album take, lacking keyboards and the subtle guitar chimes that appear later into the track. There's one big reason for hardcore fans to find this, though -- "Grasshopper." A ten-minute long instrumental that's dramatic and huge in scope, it fuses the reach of the Cure at its most gripping with Ride's own brand of feedback overload.
