If the dates are accurate, this LP contains a very similar program to the two reissued on the CD Ella Fitzgerald at the Opera House but actually took place a couple weeks later. In any case she (backed by the Oscar Peterson Trio plus drummer Jo Jones) is in top voice, particularly on "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered," "Ill Wind," and "Moonlight in Vermont." In general, the emphasis is on ballads. The LP concludes with two versions of "Stompin' at the Savoy" and one of "Lady Be Good" that feature Fitzgerald backed by eight top horn players.
