AllMusic Review by

An 18-track collection of not-so-great exotica, or exotica-influenced pop/rock, recorded by Del-Fi in the late '50s and early '60s. There are also some songs that could be pegged as mambo, lounge, calypso, or surf; the unifying ingredient is a tossed-off quality in which ethnicity is subjugated by kitschy pop. Not one of these artists has a high profile even by lounge revival standards, although "Bongo Rock" hitmaker Preston Epps is represented by the previously unreleased "Bongo Twist," and Rene Hall (leader of the Rene Hall Orchestra) was a notable arranger who had worked on Ritchie Valens recordings. It's fluffy and frivolous, highlights including the Enchanters' "Native Love," which sounds like a Buddy Holly imitator gone Hawaiian.
