AllMusic Review by

Pedro Conga's second LP still shows the orchestra with a three-trumpet/trombone/sax combination that marked the beginning of this long-running salsa band. Still, the band had a long way to go as far of popularity. Nevertheless, the bands gets plenty of oomph, thanks to arranger/mixing director Louie Ramírez and Jorge Millet. Furthermore, well-known musicians like Elías Lopés and Héctor Veneros add their expertise in the production. The title tune (well-promoted in its time), "Melao de Caña," and "Tamborilero" are the most recommended tunes. The band keeps pushing, although their long-awaited public acceptance is still awaited.
