AllMusic Review by

During 1934-35, the great Earl Hines Orchestra (the top big band then residing in Chicago) recorded fairly steadily for Decca, resulting in the 16 performances included on this highly enjoyable (if increasingly hard-to-find) LP. With Walter Fuller on trumpet and vocals, Trummy Young contributing some trombone solos, Darnell Howard and Omer Simeon starring in the reed section and Jimmy Mundy employed as one of the key arrangers, this big band could outswing virtually all of its competitors although it remained underpublicized throughout the swing era.
