AllMusic Review by

Though better-known as Bob Marley's backing band, the Wailers Band has recorded and toured nonstop since his untimely death, and remains one of the most talented roots reggae bands around. Bandleader Junior Marvin has also established himself as a solo artist, but the names of bassist Aston "Family Man" Barrett, organist Earl "Wia" Lindo, keyboardist Tyrone Downie, and percussionist Alvin "Secco" Patterson should be equally familiar to reggae fans for their session work with legends like Burning Spear. On Jah Message, songs like "Where Is Love" and "Know Thyself" spread the positive vibrations roots reggae fans love, with a subtle undercurrent of psychedelic dub influence that gives it a more modern feel. They may be one of the Jamaican music scene's best backing bands, but Jah Message proves that the Wailers Band can also stand tall on its own.
