"When the time comes, you'll believe in Jacob" is the closing line of "Polyamory," song two on this six-track EP. Vocals are strained and soaring, plaintive and aching, far-flung and far-reaching as Golden stretches it to the limits with his falsetto cries, which are accompanied by string flourishes, piano murmurs, lone guitar figures, and electronic washes. "As She Turns" begins with the line "I miss my grandpa" and ensues a demented music box feel, while "Carry Yourself" features white noise samplings woven into harmonically textured drum beats. This is a mournful effort, ransacked with painful musings, and Golden has proven himself worthy of the challenge posed by such soul-stirring material.
