On this release, it is guitarist/vocalist Nick Colionne's turn to imitate George Benson. Or perhaps he is emulating Norman Brown copying Benson? In any case, the music is mostly easy listening instrumental pop with catchy melodies and rhythms, an appealing tone displayed by Colionne on his guitar, and virtually no chances being taken. It sounds as if it were recorded with the main hope being that it will be played on the radio. The musicianship is excellent and some of the tunes are not bad, but nothing much happens beyond the opening melody statements. And, inexcusably, there is no listing of the personnel, an unusual omission on a newly recorded CD. But that is the only unusual aspect to this run-of-the-mill set by a guitarist who could clearly create more interesting music if he had the desire.
