If you're familiar with Hi-5, you won't be surprised that It's a Hi-5 Christmas is an energetic way for youngsters to celebrate the season. The group spreads plenty of cheer through "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer," "Jingle Bells," "Sleigh Ride," and a handful of other party-ready holiday favorites. Several new songs written especially for the album maintain the energy and spirit but aren't nearly as memorable, while "Away in a Manger" and "Mary's Boy Child" (respectively preceding and following "Santa Wear Your Shorts") break away from the otherwise lighthearted tone. Young fans of the group should enjoy it all, while parents will feel safe -- if a little nauseous, perhaps -- in knowing that it's good, clean fun.
