AllMusic Review by

Trombonists J.J. Johnson and Kai Winding had two reunions on A&M LPs in 1968; they had led a very popular two-trombone quintet during 1954-56 before going their separate ways. This date is a bit commercial, with a small string section and woodwinds utilized on five of the nine numbers. Still, the beautiful tones of the co-leaders make this a worthwhile set with the highlights including "My Funny Valentine," "Israel," "St. James Infirmary," and "Django."
