These 26 radio transcription recordings from the '50s include a number of remakes of Thompson's own hits, as well as other weepers, novelties, and instrumentals. The liner notes don't reveal where these recordings were derived, but it is probably World Transcriptions, the source of material that has appeared on CDs from a couple of other labels, too. The sound quality could be better -- Jasmine's mastering from vintage transcription discs seems a little indifferent at times -- but many of the performances are fine. There are better packages available if you are in the market for a collection of Hank Thompson's transcriptions, but this one will do in a pinch.
