AllMusic Review by

As the A&R mastermind behind the seminal Freezone CD series and host of his own Europe-wide radio show, DJ Morpheus has nothing to prove when it comes to musical taste. This selection of mostly European breaks artists, the most notable exception being electro pioneer Kurtis Mantronik, again demonstrates DJ Morpheus' talent for discovering future superstars in the process. Groove Armada shows the early incarnation of its Latin lounge muse on "Whole Meal," while Matthew "Bushwacka" B., later of Layo & Bushwacka! fame, creates a humorously twisted blip'n'bass trip under the name Makesome Breaksome. But more than the names, which also includes the Freestylers and Renegade Soundwave, lesser-knowns like Small Fish With Spine exhibit chillingly cold ambient breaks, while Cut & Paste assembles a collage of electro beats and scratching effects. At times, the disc can start to sound like one big samplefest, with a myopic view of electronic history. But for those who rush off of old-skool jams made raver fresh, this disc has more depth than most.
